Dear Parents, Teachers and Students:

We have started our projects. The students seem to be enthusiastic and I hope this proves to be a rewarding and enriching experience. I've enclosed a paper stating the parameters of the project and grading requirements. (3rd and 4th grade students will not be required to use all of the listed vocabulary terms but are encouraged to use many of them. 5th and 6th grade students are required to use all of the terms.) If you can, we'd love to have you visit us (on your child's class day), the week before winter break. Students will be presenting their projects at that time.

Along with your child's report card and the amusement park requirements, I've included a letter from our supervisor. Please note that in addition to important general gifted information in the newsletter, there is a listing of parent forums. These are informative meetings held once a month with the purpose of discussing issues related to the gifted child.

There will be no IGNITE classes during the week of conferences with exception of the Monday class. However, I will be in the room if you'd like to stop by and discuss your child's progress. Please call or email ahead for an appointment. If everyone makes an appointment first then I will be able to conference without interruption.
