Online Databases

Digital Pipeline: these are provided by the University of Alaska and the state legislature to all Alaskans. There is a link at the top for information on how to use the databases. Students - look for the heading: K12 Student Resources. If you are at home you will need passwords to use the databases, see Ms. Gann for a list of them or call your local public library.

 
 CultureGrams: This database contains information on all the countries of the world and also the states in the U.S. If you are at home you will need a userid and a password. See Ms. Gann to get them.

 

Online Reference Books
World Book Online: This online encyclopedia is subscribed to by the Anchorage School District. Students may access this resource both at school and at home. See Mrs. Fleming for a password to use the online encyclopedia from home.
Roget's Internet Thesaurus: a synonym and antonym reference guide. There is also a dictionary available.
 Bartlett's Familiar Quotations: not the latest edition, but access is free. There are three quotation sources provided here: Bartlett's, Columbia's, and Simpson's Quotations. Provided by Bartleby.com
  The Land of Quotes: quotes from contemporary voices.
The WorldWideWeb Acronym and Abbreviation Server: Click on Search for an Acronym, type one in and wait for the meaning.
