Greetings from Mrs. Nidiffer's "K" class 2007-2008.

There are 15 of us in our class. We are using RCCP "I" messages to tell our friends how we feel when there is a disagreement or we are trying to solve a problem. It is working very well and we are becoming excellent problem solvers in this first month of school. Houghton Mifflin  is the back bone of our reading and writing program.  As a supplement to this program we use Zoo Phonics.  It is a fun phonics program that incorporates all three learning modalities with games and songs. Math is the Every Day Math series which uses many hands on learning games at the "K" level. Our science program teaches us to observe differences and similarities in characteristics through 3 different kits. We also study different animals and their life cycles throughout the year. Our community is studied in Social Studies and will include several field trips this year. We have a brand new hand writing program called Handwriting Without Tears. This also includes all modalities along with more great songs.
