Arbor Day, 2003

Trees: Where would we be without them? Trees give us shade when it is hot, shelter from the winds when they blow and make us smile when we hug them.

On Monday, May 19th,  Chester Valley had the great honor to host a spectacular Arbor Day event. This year, two beautiful trees were donated to the school. Mayor elect Mark Begich, Superintendent Carol Comeau and representatives from the governors office and Arbor Day foundation were all on-hand as part of the dedication delegation.

The choir both sang and signed a song for the occasion. John Denver would be proud.

The speakers present that day, each in their own words,  attempted to convey to the students, staff and distinguished guests the importance of trees in our lives and for our lives.

Everyone who made this event possible: "Thank you very much." We will do our best to take care of your gift to us; we will speak for the trees.
