Band and Orchestra Concert |
|
...
And on Monday, February 3rd, 2003, music filled the Chester Valley's
multi-purpose room. Of course, it goes without saying that there
was scarcely a place for all of that music to go. It mostly resolved
itself to fill what limited space there remained in the room.
After all, it is a rare occasion indeed when a school such as
Chester valley should be inundated by so many friends and family.
Let us not forget the cameras, both video and still-shot... Yes,
there was barely a place for all of the musical flavor to rest. |

woodwinds and percussion... forte and piano...staccato

The concert
progressed back and forth. First the band would play and then
the orchestra. With each transition, the conductor of the ensemble
that was to play would give an introductory oration. Sometimes
they would give a bit of musical history, which included the
history of the music to the Chester Valley players, other times
the conductor would describe something particular to the given
song-- a way an instrument was played in a specific way or how
and why a specific instrument would be featured. |

... And
that is how went the concert. Keep practicing. Buy your reeds,
beat your drum, pluck your violins when need-be... Good music
doesn't come easy, but it does come. |
Thanks for the Background!
