Food Drive, 2002

The holidays are here! The change of seasons often catches people off guard. It may seem like just yesterday that the sun shown high in the sky and wearing a short-sleeve shirts was a realistic and acceptable clothing option.

Unfortunately, far to many people do not have the time to think back on summer's carefree activities; they struggle with the present. Without food to sustain them, Alaskans face the prospect of going hungry during these cold-dark months. How wrong is it that anyone goes hungry in Alaska?

However, there is a light at the end of the figurative tunnel. The Food Bank of Alaska is an advocate for the hungry-- it fights continuously to put food into the stomachs of those in need of assistance.

The Food Bank is presently conducting a food drive. Chester Valley, in conjunction with Ashley Homestores, KTVA and KASH radio, aims to help replenish the the Food Bank's stores to assure that no man woman or child will go hungry in Alaska.

How does this food drive work?
