Thai Dance

For the past several months, Tuni Suvannakul, Chester Valley's bilingual educator, has been teaching a group of After-School Program youth how to dance the way of the Thai. All of the group's practice and drilling paid off when they presented the student body with the art that they had learned.

Mrs. Grunwaldt introduced the performers.

The show began with Ms. Suvannakul playing a stringed Thai instrument much like the hammered dulcimer. Her playing was exceptional.

The next group to grace the stage was the After-School Program dancers. It is not easy to perform in front of a large group of people. However, these young ladies handled themselves marvelously. The amount they learned within the span of such a short time is a credit both to themselves and to their teacher.

The final group to grace the stage included Ms. Suvannakul along with two of her friends who put forth their own rendition of Thai dance. Years of practice allowed the trio to demonstrate pure Thai culture.
