The University of Alaska Fairbanks admissions counselor will be visiting our school along with the recruiter for the College of Engineering and Mines and a person from Alaska Sea Grant.  Mark your calendar for November 17, Period 6 to sit in on the information session in the Library conference room.   Come and learn about financial aid, classes, admission requirements and much more!  Get a pass to attend in the CRC.      DIXON

 

 

 

 

Basketball cheer practice will start Monday November 9th from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm    Please Please Please have all your paperwork turned into Mrs. Huffer in the activities office before Nov. 9th.       HUFFER

 

 

Students:  House 2 will be closed for lunch through the end of the semester. We may re-open in January.  Just as a reminder to everyone, please put your garbage, empty bottles, etc, in the garbage cans.  A warning to seniors--senior hall had a great deal of trash on the floor.  If you want it to remain open at lunch, please clean up after yourselves!         MARSHALL

 

 

Opera tickets are available on a very limited basis in room 182 to CHS students who would like to attend Thursday evening's performance of Sister Angelica and the famous opera called Pagliacci ( the clowns) at 7p.m. at the Performing Arts Center.  Thanks to Torrie Allen, Director of the Anchorage Opera, for this donation as part of our new school business partnership.            EKBERG-BROWN

 

 

Reminder: The Application deadline for second semester Gifted Mentorship placements is Monday, Nov. 16.  We already have training sessions scheduled for early December. Applications are available in the CRC and library, or online, and must be completed by Nov. 16.        MORSE

 

 

A representative from Jostens will be available during lunch, Nov. 9th - 13th to take senior orders.  Additional ordering packets are available in the Activities Office.           NEEL

 

 

The University of Alaska Fairbanks and the University of Alaska Southeast will be participating in a virtual college fair this week called CollegeWeekLive.  The booth for the schools will be open from November 4-7 with representatives available to answer questions and student video chatters to talk about their experience in Fairbanks.  During the live event, families may visit virtual exhibit booths, where they may access electronic brochures and course catalogs; view campus images, videos, and pod casts; participate in real-time Instant Messaging and video chats between students and school representatives; see scheduled school-specific presentations by admissions officials; find resources for students and parents; and network with other attendees. If families miss the live event, the information is searchable through the CollegeWeekLive archive. Next ID card makeup day – Thursday, Nov. 12th

 

 

Parents can pick up their password and pin to the ASD Zangle Connection, from Gayle in the Attendance Office any time during school hours. (6:45-3:00pm) Passwords and pins are given only to parents.
