2.Help develop an understanding of one's physical self.
3.Provide opportunities to work on skills to perform a variety of physical activities.

Extra Curricular Activities
Interscholastic Student Activities
The Anchorage School District offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities. It regularly prepares student surveys as part of a continuing effort to accommodate the interests and abilities of all students in a nondiscriminatory manner. Addition of interscholastic activities not currently available will be considered as a result of expression of interest by students in numbers sufficient to justify formation of a team or club.
Middle School Activities
Middle school students may participate in interscholastic and intramural athletics and a variety of academic and recreational activities. Students who would like to participate in interscholastic and intramural sports must:
Be enrolled as a full-time student in the Anchorage School District (4 or more classes)
Have an Activity Participation form signed by a parent/guardian for each sport
Have a current sports physical on file with the school; this exam is good for one year from date of issue
In addition, students who participate in interscholastic sports must pay an $100.00 participation fee per sport, be eligible for a sports fee waiver, or meet the $390 family cap for middle school and high school sports fees.
A $5 concussion baseline fee is required (no waivers)
In order to practice or play in a game, a student must be in attendance at school a minimum of one-half day, except for extenuating circumstances (such as a school field trip) approved by an administrator.
