German Exchange Program

Dimond welcomes its new German American Partnership Program (GAPP) exchange partner for the first visit this April 2006. The students attend Ö kumensisches Gymnasium in Bremen, Germany (http://www.oegym.de).

Students from Bremen and Dimond enjoy an evening at a host family. At far left is Dimond teacher Mr. Deak Ball. At far right is Bremen teacher Herr Joe Hess.

They're the slightly dazed faces you've seen throughout the halls. Perhaps you've heard a conversation of perfect German only a native to Germany could pull off, or maybe you've been approached by a German accented person asking for directions.Well everybody's been talking about it, and the eventval arrivival of our 15 German friends has resulted in a reaction of pleasure from the student of Dimond High. The students from Bremen, who are accustomed to a private school or roughly 700, have been thrust into a play pen of commotion where kids pull off more in a day then they even dare to imagine! One thing's for sure—the excitement and kindness in which they've been received is insurmountable. When they embark on the long journey back home, amidst all the memories, the cool, crazy kids at Dimond will shine out.

On July 2, Dimond students will travel for 3 weeks to Bremen with Ms.Gullickson and Mr. Ball to complete the exchange experience and start even more new connections with our German friends. The Dimond visit to German can be followed on this site: http://www.geocities.com/dhs_gapp/index.html.
