Dimond High School effectively educates young people through the cooperative
efforts of the entire Dimond community: students, teachers, administrators,
support staff, parents, alumni, and school-business partners. During
the 2005-2006 school year, Dimond students were awarded $3,592,000 in

History Day State Contest Winners

Hamid, Elena, and Mercedes (all Dimond freshmen) won the Senior
Paper Category, Senior Individual Performance Category, and the Senior
Individual Documentary Category, respectively, of the 2006 History
Day State Contest. The three will travel to Washington, DC in June
to compete in the History Day National Contest. |

Football Booster Scholarship

a $1,000.00 scholarship from the Football Booster Club and Dimond
Alumni. Any deserving Dimond High Senior Football Players
and Managers who were interested in furthering their
education after high school graduation were eligible for award. The
selection process was based on community involvement, leadership
development,
personal
qualities, strength, and the recommendation
from a panel of judges. |

Jae was chosen as a Gates Millennium Scholar. This exceptional
honor is accompanied by a scholarship covering all of Jae's
tuition, books, and room and board for his entire undergraduate and
graduate education. Jae plans to study chemical engineering at the
University of Pennsylvania. Jae is a Dimond senior. |

Chelsea received a $3,000 prize for winning the state contest and
will next compete in at the national contest in Indianapolis. This
will be Chelsea's third trip to the national contest; in 2005 she
finished in the top 10. Chelsea is a Dimond senior. |

Karrsen won his second consecutive district contest and finished
in the top group of speakers at the state contest, earning him
