ATTENDANCE PROCEDURES

Your student will be absent the entire day…
Call the automated line at 742-2700 and identify yourself.  Please leave the student’s name, spelling first and last name.

Your student will be late…
Please call or send a note to excuse the tardy.  The student must check in to the office for an Admit Slip.  Please note that an excuse does not erase a tardy and three tardies will result in a student detention.  If your student is more than 15 minutes late for class, it is considered an absence.

Your student needs to leave school…
Write a note for your student to bring to the Attendance Office for a Blue Pass.  A Blue Pass allows the student to leave class at a designated time.  If you need to pick up your student early, please call the Attendance Office 742-2720 at least 90 minutes before the student needs to leave.  It is preferred that we keep classroom interruptions to a minimum.

You receive a phone call or e-mail…
If your student has been home with your permission, please send a note the next day or call the Attendance Line, so we can excuse the absence.  If your student was in class, please have your student talk to his/her teacher and the teacher will make the correction or stop by the Attendance Office for an Attendance Correction form.   Corrections are made by the teacher only.

Your student becomes ill at school…
Please have the student go to the nurse- that way your student will be waiting for you when you arrive.  The nurse will then contact the parent and issue the student a Blue Pass. 

Your student attends ERHS and KCC…
If the student is going to be absent, you must contact both schools.  KCC’s number is 742-8900. 

Your student is going to be absent four or more days and you know in advance…
Please have the student pick up a Pre-Acknowledged Absence Form at the main office.  Students must have all their teachers complete and sign, a parent signature, and a final signature from Mr. Sosa, the Attendance principal. Completed forms should be returned to the main office before the student leaves so the absences will be excused.

The Attendance Office also maintains a Lost and Found.  If your student has lost anything, please have them stop by and take a look!
