Eagle River High School Health Clinic H1N1 Vaccination Clinic-Tentatively November 17, 2009 @ ERHS Welcome to the Eagle River High School health clinic. The health clinic team includes Megan Charles – the school nurse and Pattie Mullins – the nurse assistant. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:00am until 2:30pm. The role of the school nurse is to enhance the education process by maximizing the health and well being of school age children and adolescents. The school nurse works with the building staff and parents to ensure that each child is in the best possible physical and emotional health to benefit from school experiences. Students who become ill or injured during the school day should report to the nurse. If it is necessary to go home or to a doctor, the nurse will inform the parent/guardian and a Blue Pass will be issued. Although we stress the importance of good attendance, a student who appears ill should remain at home. Please do not send sick students to school to be examined by the school nurse. This may expose many others to unnecessary illnesses. If your student develops a significant health concern during the school year that may affect his/her performance at school, please notify the school nurse. It is important that the school be kept informed of current phone numbers - home, work, cell, and emergency contacts. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to stop by or call. Immunizations Health Screening Alaska State law requires tuberculin testing for all students new to our district. TB testing is also done for those students on certain jobs or enrolled in some King Career Center classes. Medications |
