East Anchorage High School, lying in the heart of the Anchorage "greenbelt", offers spectacular views of the Chugach Mountains to the east and Mount McKinley (Denali) to the north. East High is a comprehensive, four-year high school, and is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.

Since its early years, EAHS has been highly regarded for its varied cultural, socioeconomic, and multi-ethnic student body that celebrates the differences among its 2100 students. East works to meet the needs of this diverse population through a wide variety of course offerings and alternative programs.

Our staff reflects the ethnic blend of our student body. We have faculty members from many countries and ethnic backgrounds. We are united, however, in our desire to offer the best education in the state.

East's faculty is also growing younger as the older staff retires. East has been extremely fortunate to have so many experienced and dedicated new staff members join us. Our "new" teachers are also making enormous contributions to the educational process here at East.
