This is a very cool service provided to Alaska students by the Alaska State Library.   This currently works for Windows-based PC's, and provides live help in a chat format.  Got a question....they've got answers....and they've got them while you're trying to get your homework

The vaccination clinic at Goldenview Middle School is tentatively scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2009, during PE and Health classes. This date is subject to change, based on availability of the vaccine.

We do know that vaccinations at Goldenview will be postponed due to lack of vaccine supplies.  Please do get forms on file - when the vaccine shows up, the clinic will happen quickly, and there may only be enough for those that have paperwork done.

If you have questions, please check the links below, or call the Goldenview office.

Complete information from ASD about H1N1, what schools are planning to do is available at

http://www.asdk12.org/EPrep/flu.asp

At that site you can also print the Consent & Screening form  your child

MUST HAVE

to receive the vaccination at school.

IF YOUR CHILD IS NOT WELL, and you're wondering if they should come to school, see "When to stay home" on the link above.

Zangle ParentConnect is now connected.

For on-line access to your student's grades you can pick up a PIN and password from the office.  This must be done by the parent, in person.

If you have students at more than one school, you need a PIN/Password from only ONE school.

Then, connect at

http://parentconnect.asdk12.org/

More information about ParentConnect can be found at http://www.asdk12.org .

-------------------------------------------------------

While you're connecting, Goldenview is starting to put more and more stuff on the site from student activities   Cross Country Running is now in session, and we have some photos.

If you haven't joined PTSA yet, it's not too late!!  Consider being a volunteer.  You get a much better feel for the school if you're here during the day seeing what happens.  And your work helps fill the gap for all kinds of things that make it a better school.

 Technology Donations!

Goldenview makes wide use of a number of donated items, and needs more.

If you find you no longer need that "small" LCD computer monitor or "old" flat panel television, Goldenview may be able to make use of it.

We're also looking for good quality computer sound systems and a small number of "living room quality" stereo systems.  We want to install a high fidelity system to listen and record music in all three of our music rooms, and are looking for components, complete systems, or cabinets to hold them.  Some good sets of speakers are especially needed. Size is not an issue.

We could also use older digital cameras and hand cams for a number of activities.  Scanners that work with Windows XP or Mac OS X are needed.

If you have any technology that you think might have educational use, please call Mr. Holleman at 742-8230.  Much of the technology you see at Goldenview was a donation of one sort or another, and has added greatly to what we're able to do.

Please note: during the summer my response to phone calls is very slow, but I check email almost every day.  If you have items you think we could use please email me at holleman_andy@asdk12.org and I will be back in touch.  Thank you.

Schedule Changes - When events (such as an assembly) cause a change to the bell schedule, that will now be reflected on the Goldenview Public Calendar (see the Calendar link just below this notice).  If you are coming as a volunteer or other function that can vary with the school schedule, you are encouraged to check the calendar for changes.
