Dance Rules

•       Make ride arrangements at least one day before the dance.  Pick up will be at 4:30.

•       Only current Goldenview students may attend – guests are not permitted. 

•       There is a $2 charge at the door unless otherwise stated.

•       Students who have TWO or more out-of-school suspensions or other significant discipline issues will be excluded from the dance.

•       All belongings are to be left in your lockers.  You will be given an opportunity to pick up your items after the dance.

•       Playlists are pre-approved prior to the dance.  If you have a school appropriate special request please see Mrs. Bain.

•       Students must be inside the doors of the Gym by 3:00.  From there you will enter the MPR.  After 3:10 you will be able to enter the lower commons area only, where food and drinks will be for sale, and you can purchase pictures. 

•       Students must remain in the MPR or Lower Commons only.  Do NOT enter other parts of the building during the dance.

•       Once you leave the dance or building you may not reenter the dance or building. 

•       Rules remain the same during dances as during the school day.  Appropriate behavior is expected at all times during a dance.  Inappropriate and unsafe behaviors include running, chasing, pushing, throwing anything, or jumping on or over things or people.  Those who do not act appropriately will be instructed to leave the dance immediately.

•       Sexually explicit or “dirty dancing” is inappropriate and not permitted.  Excessive body contact (beyond hand holding) is not permitted.

•     "Moshing," "head banging," shoving, lifting people off the floor, crowd surfing, or passing people are prohibited.  All people involved in any such dangerous activities will be instructed to leave the dance immediately, NO warning, NO second chances.

•       Fancy or formal clothes are never required but are okay.  Dress must be appropriate, as it would be for school.  Inappropriate dress includes revealing clothes, exposed midriffs, strapless tops, or straps less than one inch wide. 

•       Dances conclude at 4:30.  All seventh graders go to the front of the building by the flagpole to find your ride.   All eighth graders go to the rear of the building.
