If you have been given a "User Key" by your teacher, this will allow you to sign up for a Gaggle account.  Please follow these directions EXACTLY - failure to do so will cause your account to be deleted.

First, go to http://www.gaggle.net Click on the link "here" under the title, "New User Key".

That will take you to a page for you to create your account.  The page should have 5 blank fields.  Below is an example of how Bob Smith would fill out the page:

Leave the User Key blank.  You will get your User Key after everything else is filled in correctly.  Your User Name must be the first four letters of your last name, a period, and the first three letters of your first name.  No blank spaces. Your Full Name should be your last name, then a comma, then a space, and your first name. Your password can have only numbers and letters - no blanks and no special characters. Know that there is no way anyone at Goldenview can see your password.  This part is completely private to the user.

For a student named Mark Smith, the registration information would look like the above example.  Yours must be similar.  Leave the User Key blank.

Once you have been given a User Key, fill that in also.

Click the "Register" button when you are ready - then WAIT....give the page time to load.  If you click it a second time too soon, you will get an error.

If things go well, you will go to a "Welcome New User" page, or you may get an error.  Correct and resubmit.  If you get the error "Key is already assigned to a different user", go to the main Gaggle page, and try logging in using your User name and password.

You can begin using your account immediately.  If you have problems you cannot correct, contact your teacher or Mr. Holleman at school.

Your email address is your User Name followed by "@Gaggle.net" (Mark's would be "Smit.mar@Gaggle.net").

The next time you go to the Gaggle.net page, use your User Name and password to log in from the main page.  Note that once you have used your User Key, it is useless.  You can't use it for anything and neither can anyone else.  Please throw it away.
