Students are expected to be familiar with the National Health Standards for Health

Students will study concepts in Health governing Mental/Social/Physical Health aspects

Students should engage in critical thinking and analysis about their present lifestyle practices and make considerations about the direction of their future.

I use lecture with overhead, board notes, & media projection to introduce concrete topics, abstract concepts, & lessons.

I use research methods to learn concrete facts.

I use small discussion groups to explore peer behavior, influence, and leadership.

                                I use guided discovery methods to engage students in classroom discussion to seek responsible response.

 

4.                   List the textbooks and materials to be used.

All students are challenged at an appropriate level. Students with greater instruction needs get personal attention and modified expectations.

 

7.                   Describe the class policy on homework.

I limit homework to parent discussions and encouragement for increased levels of Physical Activity and rest.

Students are given ample class time to complete Health studies in the classroom.  Students who need more time to finish create their own homework or get help in Special Education.

 

8.                   Describe the methods to be used to evaluate both teacher performance and student performance.

I make corrections to lessons on the spot, making notations to models of delivery for the future

Students are evaluated for their ability to comprehend concepts through
