SUNSHINE SOURCEText Box: WELCOME TO GOLDENVIEW

The 2008-2009 school year is quickly approaching. We celebrate your accomplishments in elementary school and anticipate your arrival in the fall. Throughout the spring, we host several activities designed for you to learn more about Goldenview. On March 21st from 7:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., we will have Open Registration for those students who missed the counselor visits to their school and others who are currently on zone exemptions at other elementary schools, but who are in the Goldenview attendance area followed by a short tour of our school. In addition, the 6th grade Parent Night takes place on Wednesday, April 16th at 6:30 p.m. This event will begin in our gymnasium, followed by presentations on curriculum by our Department Chairs in pod areas.

As this transition begins, our focus is to surround you with information and opportunities to be successful. Our mascot is the Goldenview Sun, and it reflects an outstanding membership, of which you will be a part. In and out of school you represent the high standards in scholastics and behavior in which Goldenview tradition is founded. A smaller community within our program is dubbed, the Team. Your assignment on a Team will take place during registration. This coming year, your day will consist of seven periods, five of which are Math, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies, and PE. Electives will be selected on request and seat availability. Opportunities to participate in intramural and interscholastic sports, music, dances, pep assemblies, etc. are available throughout the year, and we encourage your participation. Goldenview extends an enthusiastic and warm welcome to you!

Sincerely,

Julie Maker, Principal
