Below you will find the acceptable dress code for Hanshew Middle School students.
Outer garments, including coats, jackets, and hats are not to be worn in the building during school hours.
Walking shorts, skorts, and skirts will be no shorter than two inches above the knee.
No oversized or sagging clothing. Shirts may not be longer than a student's arm length.
Low cut blouses, t-shirts with armholes cut out, or sheer mesh, see-through shirts are not to be worn.
No slippers, house shoes, or platform shoes (safety issue).
No tank tops, halter tops, crop tops, tube tops, or any other top that leaves the shoulders or midriff exposed. Undergarments are not to be shown at any time.
No clothing with profanity/vulgarities or clothing advertising alcohol, tobacco or drugs, or pictures/logos related to such items or organizations/groups.
No hats in the school building.
No bandanas, rags, gloves, chains, scarves, or gang-related decorative articles.
No sunglasses inside the building unless medically required.
No pajama bottoms or anything that resembles pajama bottoms.
Parents will be contacted to provide proper attire should their child arrive at school and not be in compliance with the school's dress code.
Final determination of acceptable dress and grooming will rest with the administration.
