Career Page
The career that I chose is to be a Manga Artist, because I love to draw and my favorite thng in the world is anime(My Mom said taht it's just a bad as a drug. Once your hooked, your hooked for life).
First you have to be good at drawing to even consiter it as a job, than you still have to improve your art and varyyour art style. And if your are good at drawing and the styles very you still have one issue, and that is that you have to get your art into a weekly comic(This is usely were all young artist start).
What I got from Shonen Jump
Title in the book is "HOW MANGA IS MADE"
OPION #1
You strat as an Artist that comes up with a new manga idea and spend a lot of your time drawing it. Then you appy it to Weekly shonen Jump. If you were rejected you take art classs or stop and get a new career.
Opion #2
You do the first two steps and your rejected again so instead of going to get art classes you get a job as an assistant to another artist( Most Famous artist strat out as an assistant). If you like it you can have that as your new career. Or you could use the contacts and work yor way up to be an artist. You get accepted and it appears in the Weekly Shonen Jump and is sent out all over Japan. The story could be unpopular and you have to start over or it might be popular and your dream comes true. In a few months the manga appears in a grapic novel form. The anime is adapted into a figures, games, videos, ect. Fans of Foreign Licensors become interested. The American editors decide how the names of the character wel be translated, then they translate it into English and the Lettered in Japanese texts into Texts in your Lanuage. The last part is the manga is published in the U.S. ^_^
Opion #3
You do the first two parts(Drawing and sending in the art work) Well.. You have been accepted and so know you hve to meet the Editor of the Shonen Jump so you can talk on the details for the new Manga, after a while it gets put into the Weekly Shonen Jump and put out across Japan. Then after that the Manga could be unpopular and it ends quicky, or its popular and it goes just like in the opion #2 which is it gets put into a graphic novel, put into a game, figures, video, ect. Then the Foreigh licsorsand then the translation. And Last the American do the Letter an d its put out in the U.S.
Little Note: The reson most Artist work as an assistant is because you get the education on Anime as if you were in the Manga school, which most people don't take for the resone. ^.^ (I learn something new.)
Pay
As an assistant you get around 80,000 yen ( or about $800 U.S) in the first month to start. Assistant does: put in mostion lines, down tone, sometimes just ink in the panels, backgrounds and sound texts.
Most Manga Artist get 10,00 yen($100 U.S.) a page so you don't geet that much but you can make more by selling as a Doujinshi. A doujinshi is a self-published manga. The bookstores almost never sell these Manga so you have to bay them online.( 0.K I got a little off the pay thing and the truth real does hurt and like I said befor I did lraen quit a bite to day) Note: the payment on the Manga vary and on the assistant too. these are just about what you'd make.(THe page I was looking at makes it sound real tought to become a Manga Artist and she also said that I sould get strated right away but I think she was talking more about if you were to just go to Japan and try it I stll haven't tooken Japanese but I will next year at 9 th grade)
Well.... Bye! For know that is. ^.^ (I'm just going to leave know.)
