Baker
Description
One of my occupations would have to be a baker. It’s challenging to be a baker because there’s a lot of science and math involved. Bakers bake many different kinds of cakes, cookies, breads, and lots of other good stuff! To be a cook you need to be able to stand for along time and be able to repeat the same movements over and over again.

Education and Training
It helps in high school if you take family consumer science or home ec. As some people call it. Also for science later on you should take chemistry. You could also try working in a small bakery or somewhere that bakes things as a small job when you’re a teen.

Salary Range
If you are a baker in Alaska you usually get about $18.14 an hour and about $37,731 a year.

Why I’m Interested…
I love to cook! I like to help my mom with cakes, cookies, and other baked stuff over the holidays. It’s just fun to come up with something new or to try to make something you found!

Singer

Description
Another job I would like is to be a singer.
When being a singer you need to able to sand or sit for long periods of time. Also you need to hear different sounds and be able to tell the difference between them, focus on one sound and block out all others, and also be able to speak clearly so listeners can hear.

Education and Training
To be a singer what you can do in high school is take classes that can help out for getting the job. A few of the classes that can help are dance, choir, business math, and much more! You need at least 3 years of math, 3 years of social studies, 4 years of English, and 2 years of science.

Salary Range
Most singers get paid $20.77 an hour in Alaska, that’s $43,202 yearly!

Why I’m Interested…
I love to sing! I think it would be fun to travel and be able to do what I love. I think it would also be cool to be other stars and people.
