Greetings Everyone! My name is Tricia Kofoid and I am very proud to be your PTA President for the 2009/2010 School year. This year will be my 1st year serving on the Northern Lights ABC School PTA Board.  My hope is that as the year progresses I will get to meet everyone personally and have an opportunity to work with you as we work together to make a difference here at Northern Lights ABC School.

We have a fabulous group of individuals who are ready and excited to make this year the absolute best it can be. We will be kicking off the year with our membership drive sponsored by Denali Alaskan Federal Credit Union. Please remember that when you join the PTA, you are supporting a dedicated non-profit organization whose goal it is to be advocates and supporters for children’s safety and education.

Thanks to the help and support of our wonderful NLABC families, we are looking forward to the return of many popular programs and events such as our Book Fair, Fall Carnival, Science Night, Family Fun Night and more! We know that every year, without the support and help of the wonderful parents of NLABC, none of these things would be possible.  We appreciate any amount of time, energy and funds that you contributed to our school.

The PTA is introducing new fundraising projects with many opportunities for you to become more involved. The PTA will sponsor the Art To Remember fundraiser in the fall, providing you with the prefect holiday gifts. The PTA will hold a read-a-thon in the spring, with exciting prizes awarded to the student, class and teacher who raise the highest dollar amount.

The PTA has many committees that need volunteers to manage and carry out the numerous tasks benefiting Northern Lights ABC School and its students. It’s a lot easier and a lot more fun to share the work as a committee. Please consider joining the 2009/2010 Budget, By-Laws, Back to School Picnic or School Supplies committee. These committees will meet once or twice to set a plan of action, with other communication via email or phone.

In an effort to continue our environmentally friendly ways, our official form of communication will be the email list. Join the email list by contacting the PTA at  northernlightsabc@gmail.com

The PTA is excited to add more ways to stay informed.
