Romig Middle School PTSA General Membership Meeting

September 10, 2008

Attendance:

Jenny Redick, Janice Torres, Alicia de la Cruz, Principal Sven Gustafson, Valerie Marks, Lori Bingham, Sarah Tuggle, Tina Baker, Sheila Rich, Rachel Christy, Betsy Goudreau, Mary Elam, Paul Adelman, and Principal Shane Inch. Several people arrived during the meeting and did not sign the attendance sheet.

Call to Order:

The meeting was called to order at 5:35 p.m. A quorum of the PTSA membership was present. Introductions of the Board and meeting attendees were made.

New Business:

In response to questions from attendees, Valerie and Principal Gustafson spoke about the role of PTSA at Romig, giving examples of previous uses of PTSA funds. Jenny noted that membership forms, eScrip forms, and No Sale Fundraiser donation forms were available and would be handed out during Open House as well.

Call for Nominations:

Rochene Hellen was nominated for the position of PTSA Vice-President and Paul Adelman was nominated as Membership Chair. Jenny moved to approve these nominations, which was seconded by Valerie Marks. This motion passed unanimously. Mary Elam and Tina Baker agreed to be Volunteer Co-Coordinators.

Treasurerπs Report:

Romig PTSA currently has $7200 in the bank after paying Alaska PTA dues. PTA insurance (approximately $140) has not yet been paid. Alicia presented the PTSA budget for the 2008-2009 year, which was approved unanimously.

Meeting was adjourned at 6:16 p.m.
