The Romig Middle School Spelling Bee occurs annually and showcases Romig's top spellers. Coordinators Kathy Clawson and Chiquita McGee order the annual Paideia spelling books and team winners get these to study. Language arts teachers host micro-spelling bees for each team and then top team spellers advance on to the school-wide bee. The finalist for the Romig Bee then advances to the Alaska State Spelling Bee held every spring.
