Protection of Bengal Tigers

Protection of the Bengal Tiger is crucial. There are hundreds of organizations dedicated to saving the Bengal. For instance, Project Tiger, developed on April 1, 1973, is a foundation of nine sanctuaries that provide habitat and prey for tigers. The main goals of Project Tiger are to maintain the population of the tiger for economic, scientific, aesthetic, and ecological reasons.

The Wildlife Protection Society of India (WPSI) was established in 1994. It focuses on the salvation of tigers. WPSI wants to preserve India's symbol of culture and heritage. If tigers become extinct, the government will have no motivation to protect wildlife as much as it does now.
