A full grown adult snow leopard weighs approximately between 60 to 120 pounds. Their height is about 23 inches(about two feet tall). The length of an adult snow leopard from the head to the beginning of the tail is about 41 inches long. The adult snow leopard's tail length is usually about 35 inches long. The snow leopard's fur is a pale grey, almost white with a single dark stripe running the length of it's body along the backbone. They have dark grey rosettes that are all over their body. Snow leopard's long, thick fur(twelve centimeters) with coarse guard hairs and woolly undergrowth keeps them warm in their natural habitats.

A snow leopard weighs about one pound at birth. Litter size is very rarely more than five cubs, but is usually two to three. When baby snow leopards are brought into the world they have needle- like claws, no sight , and hunger for their mother's milk. The gestation period for snow leopards is 92 to103 days. After one to one and one half weeks baby snow leopards (kittens) open their eyes to their beautiful world. At about 70 days the kittens get weaned off their mother's milk. At 18 months snow leopards reach sexual maturity. In captivity snow leopards can reach the age of 20 but in the wild their life expectancy is about 15 years.
