Since the Indo-Gangetic Plain has some of the most fertile land in India, many people make a home there Growing crops is easy because of the rich soil from the Indus, Ganges, and Brahmaputra Rivers. Th,is makes it one of the most populated places in the world. The Vindhya Range forms the Deccan Plateau. Farmers here most irrigate the land to grow crops because the land does not have a water source, so it is dry. You can still get decent crops to grow there. About 65% of the work force works as agricultural laborers. Most Indian farmers work very hard. Farms are usually not larger than two acres and are often smaller than one acre. The farmers most use that land to grow enough food for their family and have stuff left to sell. For centuries, India has been famous for the variety and quality of it's goods. India has some of the most prized products in the world. Some of India's major industries are processed foods, cement, machinery, and chemicals.
