Important Events During The War

 

-On June 25, 1950 North Korea made a surprise attack on South Korea by crossing the 38 parallel.
-On June 26, 1950 North Korea's tanks reached the outskirts of Seoul, South Korea.
-On June 27, 1950 President Truman sent U.S. Naval and Air troops to support South Korea.
-On June 28, 1950 Seoul was taken by North Korea.
-On July 2, 1950 N.K.P.A. (North Korean People's Army) invaded, and took Suwon, South Korea.
-On August 27, 1950 a U.S. plane accidentally attacked Manchurian airfields. It's a very important industrial and agricultural center.

-On September 11, 1950 President Truman gave the approval for the National Security Council to cross the 38 parallel and invade North Korea.
-On September 29 , 1950 Seoul was taken back by Syngman Rhee's government.
-On October 9 , 1950 the United States crossed the 38th parallel near Kaesong.
-On November 30 , 1950 President Truman threatens to use the atomic bomb to keep the Chinese out of Korea.
-On July 8 , 1951 talks about wanting peace began in Kaesong.
-In June 1952, an okay was given to bomb a Korean power plant on the Yalu river.
-On August 5 , 1952 Syngman Rhee won another election and remains the ruler of South Korea.
-On July 27 , 1953 the war ended when the United Nations, Korea, and China agreed on an armistice.
