During the Vietnam War there were many great leaders from the United States and from North and South Vietnam. He are some of a many great leaders during this war.

Ngo Dinh Diem: Ngo was the president of South Vietnam from 1955-1963. His favoritism to Roman Catholics, Buddhists and his family caused great criticism. As South Vietnam began losing ground in the war he was assassinated by generals taking over the government.

Lyndon B. Johnson: Lyndon Johnson was the thirty-sixth president of the United States of American. He took over after former president John F. Kennedy. During the war, Johnson tried to promote peace talks by suspending air raids. North Vietnam declined peace talks and fighting continued. Johnson shocked the nation when he decided that he would not run for re-election after his term had ended.

Richard M. Nixon: Nixon was the thirty-seventh president, he took office after Johnson left. Nixon is probably best known for the infamous Watergate scandal. Near the end of the war, when it was apparent that South Vietnam and the U.S. were losing, Nixon pulled our troops out. Not calling our pulling out a defeat, but an honorable withdraw.

Ho Chi Minh: Ho Chi Minh was the first president of North Vietnam. Ho began an uproar against South Vietnam in 1959. He always believed that North Vietnam should be free from South Vietnam, and he wouldn't accept defeat. Those actions were in part why over 3 million peoples lives were lost.
