P'u: The Uncarved Block

The idea of P'u (pronounced kind of like "the sound you make when blowing a bug off your arm on a hot summer day." (from the book The Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff) is that of letting nature flow along and take its course, not obstructing it. When you realize that things are made to be used as they are, you become in tune with the Tao and lead a much easier, happier life. Wei Wu Wei means "Do without Doing", implying that events happen by themselves, without human interaction being required. The concept of the Uncarved Block is somewhat apparent just from the name: it means that you do not need to put forth incredible amounts of effort to get things done...they will happen by themselves, like it or not.
