Aviation is an important part of Alaska's history. With the new technology of aviation, things like travel and mailing letters were made much easier. Airplanes could be flown for rescues or just for leisure. Towards the end of the century, Alaska was one of the highest users of the aircraft. At the beginning of the century aircrafts were rare, and few flew them. Now they are a part of our everyday life.
