The Dehavilland U-6A Beaver was manufactured between 1952 and 1960.  It was known as the L-20A before 1962.  The United States Military received almost 1000 U-6A Beavers. Though most went to the Army about two hundred went to the U.S. Air force. These were used in a wide variety of ways including liaison and cargo transport roles.  The other 800 went to the Army.  The U-6A saw action in both the Korean and Vietnam wars by the U.S. and have been used by other countries in other wars.  During the wars they were mainly used for aerial evacuation of wounded.  The others roles played by this aircraft during the wars included passenger transport, reconnaissance, courier service, light cargo transport, rescue, and aerial photography.
