The Stinson Reliants were made between 1935 and 1947 by the Stinson Aircraft Company in several different models.

Eddie Stinson was killed while demonstrating the new model in Chicago.  He crashed head on into a house from a very low altitude.  The company was then sold to Vultee where 500 Reliants were manufactured.  These had minor changes in the fuselage and the cowling.

The Reliant has a beautiful gull wing with the curve on the top.  This provides more lift.  Only a few were ever manufactured without a gull wing, they were very rare.

The Reliants were used in World War Two, but before the war they were civilian aircraft and were used for mail transport, and cargo transport.
