The Sea Otter is a furry
animal that lives in the North Pacific Ocean.(Prince William Sound)
The Sea Otter was one of the many animals who's population was
effected drastically by the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill. The population
decreased drastically by hunting and oil spills such as the Exxon
Valdez Spill. Not only was the Sea Otter effected, but its habitat
was also drastically effected.
The large beds of kelp you
see along the Pacific Coast is much like a dense forest. The roots
of the brown/green seaweed is fastened tightly to the ocean floor.
Rising more than one-hundred feet or more from the ocean bottom,
the kelp is all branched together like tree a tree branch. The
kelp is also home to many Sea Otters. Since/because of the Exxon
Valdez Oil Spill the kelp has not been able to grow the same way,
because of some of the defects the oil might have caused the previous
kelp.
