Benny Benson was the little boy who designed the simple Alaskan flag. His design is of the Big Dipper, which is part of the constellation Ursa Major, on a backround of deep blue, which is the night sky. The constellation is well-known and easily visible in Alaska, and Benny Benson is a very important person in Alaska's history.
