Endangered Species

In the year of 1973 the Giant Panda was put on the endangered species list. That meant that there were very few of them left in the world. Laws were put into effect to protect the Giant Panda. Nothing could be made from their bodies, and they could not be hunted. In the year of 1984 you needed a permit to bring them into the United States to put them in a zoo. They are no longer endangered, because their population is a lot higher now.
