The Bengal Tiger is usually solitary, but are occasionaly seen in a party of three or four. Both sexes mark off their territory, but the males territory will most of the time overlap several female territories. The males regularly patrol their territory.
Most Bengal tiger cubs are born 3 1/2 months after mating, most of them are born between the months of February and May. The cubs will weigh under 3 pounds at birth. Their eyes open in 15 to 16 days after they are born. There is also some evidence that the female tigers will often give their territory to their daughters.
Unlike other animals, the Bengal Tiger will take advantage of man made trails and roads. Bengal Tigers are excellent swimmers. This species of tigers are endangered, and can live up to about 26 years.
