The Bengal Tiger is found throughout India, from the Himalayas to Cape Comorin. They cannot survive in the desert because of the lack of the natural habitat there. They prefer their homes to be in dense thickets, in long grasses, or Tamarist shrubs along the river banks. Some Bengal Tigers also like to settle in old ruins.
The Bengal Tiger is a carnivore. They prefer to eat deer, wild pigs, young buffalo, cattle, and young elephants. They normally like to have prey that weighs over 100 pounds. But when they are driven by hunger, they will eat ANYTHING! This includes: fowl, fish lizards, frogs, crocodiles, carrion, and even human beings on certain desparate occasions!
