There are many superstitions of the Bengal Tiger. Necklaces made of their claws on children are said to protect them from "the evil eye." Their whiskers are considered a powerful aphrodiscaic in Indonesia, a dreadful poison in Malaysia, and an aid to child birth in Pakistan and India. Their fat, liver, bones and penis are prized for aphrodiscais or medicines in many places as well.
There are an estimated amount of about 200 Bengal Tigers in Nepal, about 4000 in India from the 2000 tigers in 1970. The authorities are making points to keep the tiger from becoming extinct, by forming programs such as, "Project Tiger." The authorities set up nine sanctuaries where the tigers can have their proper habitat and the prey that they like.
