Dragons are important deities in two of China's religions, Buddhism and Taoism. The Chinese dragon was a kind, giver of water. There are five major types of dragons, which protect important objects, people, or gods. Chinese dragons are often used in symbolism. The dragon's physical appearances are taken from many animals.
