The beautiful women of India are much like other women from different countries. They are very house-proud and most if the time don't go anywhere outside of their house without being accoumpanied by another. She cooks almost all day in a very small portion of the house, where she has no one to bother her, this is the way she likes it. The wife is almost like a bear to their cubs, because she doesn't like it when her kids interfere with her cooking or get the house more dirty than usual. She gets very upset with them when that happens. The wife does just about everything there is to do in the house. For example, after a long night on the flimsy matress in her house she gets up very early and washes all the matresses with a rag and cleans around the house.
Every weekend the whole family and relatives go to a "special place" the mother calls it. Which is normally the cinema. The wife puts on her best sari and decorates her hair with flowers. The rest of the family also puts on their very best garmets, this is sort of the equivalent of going to church in the United States.
Indian women have traditionally been seen as inferior to men, both physically as well as intellectualy. Women there can't own porperty, they don't have the freedom to choose if they want to have their own maiden name.
Women in India had a movement to grant women the right by law to vote. It was called the "Womens Suffrage Movement." It also took place in other countries, where women took a stand and started becoming more independent in their everyday life. People throughout India began to support the law and respect the women a little more over time. But there are still thousands of people who don't support them and think that it is uncontstitutional, and against the Hindu religon.
The women of India can be very well distinguished from other ethnic groups, because about 99% of all women wear a "tilak" on thier head, right between their eyebrows. Depending on the size and on the color it represents their own marital status. This is something that no other type or group of people wear.
