History

When Shah Jahan become empire of the Taj Mahal, he began to go back to the strict Shi'ite Muslim ways. He made many extreme changers, including, making Islam the whole state's religion. One of Shah Jahan's sons overthrew him because he was making so many big expenditures. He destroyed Hindu temples, so he could build more mosques and forts.

Aurangzeb, Shah Jahan's son, was an even stricter Muslim.. He made strict Islamic laws and reinstated taxes and those only applied to the Hindu people. The Taj Mahal is known to "glow" at night. When the Taj Mahal was completed, it came to a total of about thirty-two million Rupees.
