The Hindu Temple is known by three different names: Mandria, which means waiting place; Prasada, which means seat; and Devalaya, which means house of God. The temple is described as a crossing place where worlds of divinity and humanity meet. Some believe that if you see and touch the temple , you can temporarily go to heaven and experience the after life. The temple is expressed as an artistic, intellectual, and religious life form of the Hindu community.
The Mandira rituals consist of dance, drama, music, and art. The sacred dances and dramas are performed in the assembly hall of the temple. Hindus believe that God is found everywhere in the world, but they also believe that their respect for God is displayed in the symbolism found throughout the Mandira. The place for the Mandira , was carefully selected. The outer surface of the Mandira held detailed sculptures.
