Venetia graduated from college with a degree in teaching from the Univeristy of Washington. She was offered a job across the country, but her family said it was too far to move and would not let her move.So, she moved back to Alaska were she met her husband.

They moved to Arizona, where they lived for eight years and had a son. Then they moved back to Alaska, and Venetia worked for the court in Juneau for 28 years. After her husband died, Venetia moved into The Pioneers' Home. That was eight years ago, and she is still living there.
