Lorene Harrison


CHILDHOOD

Lorene Harrison was born on a farm in Kansas in 1905. She later moved to Sterling, Kansas. She had one brother and one sister. She is a very outgoing and all-around nice person. In the eighth grade, she was the spelling champion of the school, and in high school she was captain of the basketball team.

She moved to Alaska in 1928 and become one of the first teachers
in Anchorage. She taught music and home economics.
