Leadership Academy

The Leadership Academy at Service High School is centered around the NJROTC program and focuses on academic excellence, community service and academic/practical leadership training.  Our learning environment starts with an understanding of self-discipline and followership, then moves on to academic and practical lessons in basic, intermediate and advanced leadership techniques and practices.  Students have classroom training in leadership concepts reinforced through planning and participation in several community service events throughout the school year.  Participation in the Leadership Academy can be from one through four years, with more advanced leadership techniques targeted for each successive year of participation.  Each year of participation in the Leadership Academy counts for one elective credit.  Additionally, for each of the first two years of participation the student will have one-half credit of Physical Exercise credit waived.
