All students going to Costa Rica need to attend a meeting today at lunch in Ms. Cooper’s room, E104. We need to finalize our plans for our fundraiser! We still have two spots available, so if you are still interested, please come as well.

 

A Volunteer Fair!  TONIGHT at 5:00pm in the Commons, sponsored by the PTSO.  There will be representatives from many of the nonprofit organizations in town who have need of high school volunteers. If parents or students have questions about any of the volunteer opportunities available in Anchorage, this would be the place to ask your questions!  Pizza and beverages will be available.

 

Girls Basketball Clinic:  Today and tomorrow from 5:00-7:00pm in the main gym. Any girls interested in playing this year are encouraged to participate.

 

Wolverine Fans, new championship banners have arrived for our Tennis State Champions, Girls XC Running Region Champions and our Gymnastics Region Champions. They are proudly flying above their respective team pictures on Wolverine Row for your viewing pleasure. South High is very proud of the accomplishments of these teams.

 

Other News:

If you have requested transcripts PLEASE pick them up in the Curriculum Office.  We have over 100 that have not been picked up!  Transcripts are not mailed out or delivered to classes for current students.

 

Seniors interested in Air Force or Army ROTC Scholarships: the deadline for applications is December 1, 2009.

 

The Gifted Mentorship Program deadline for applying for the 2nd semester is this Friday, 11/20.  Download an application from the district's website or pick one up in the library.  Ms. Wiley will be at SAHS on Mondays during lunch and after school to pick up applications and discuss the program with students.

 

South is sponsoring the University of Houston for the Great Alaskan Shootout.  The Tourney runs from Nov. 24-28.   Students can purchase $10 punch cards good for any 3 sessions, (6 games) other than the championship session on Saturday.  Tickets are on sale before and after school in H208, only until Friday.

 

Attention Seniors!  If you purchased a senior ad, your pictures are due by Nov. 20th. Turn in photos to Mr. Lynn’s room, G212, at lunch or after school only! If you do not give us your pictures, you ad will NOT be printed. Refunds will NOT be given!!! Please see a yearbook student or Mr. Lynn for more information.
