Zangle! is here and coming to you!

Computerized progress reports first showed up in the district over twenty years ago. But the biggest change yet is about to arrive! You’ve filled out the form; you’ve read the newspaper articles; and it is actually happening! With the start of this school year, the district is using Zangle!, the new Student Management System, for maintaining student records, including grades and attendance. We are excited by the opportunities for improved communication that this will provide.

Most SAHS teachers have posted grades online and parents are well practiced in accessing them. This communication has benefited all of us. With the advent of Zangle!, the district will be able to maintain an accurate, cohesive set of data in one location. Parents will be able to see all of their children’s records at one convenient site.

Unfortunately, it was not possible to install all of Zangle’s modules at the same time. We anticipate the Parent Connection to be in place within three to five weeks – sometime between Back to School Night (Sept. 8 th) and the first quarter progress reports (Sept. 19 th). Until then, teachers will use more traditional means of communication if issues arise: they will be able to print out reports or make phone calls home. Many will be posting grades for students within their classrooms.

Further information on Zangle can be found on the district’s web site: http://www.asdk12.org/parents/zangle/index.asp. Feel free to contact our technology coordinator if you would like more information or the latest on expected implementations: Peter Tryon at tryon_peter@asdk12.org

Thank you for your patience in this matter. We are confident that the implementation will be worth the wait!
