Kindergarten English Teacher - Mrs. Hagge
Welcome to the Russian Immersion Kindergarten.  We are looking forward to using a new reading program and lots of fun learning centers.  One of our first activities will be the Name Routine.  Each day we will draw a name, then we will give that child a cheer, interview them, write their name and draw a picture of them.  The childrens' self-portraits will be displayed on a bulletin board.

2nd Grade Russian Teacher - Mrs. Erickson
Dear Second Grade Families!
Welcome to the second grade!  First of all, I would like to introduce myself.  My name is Inna Erickson.  I graduated from Bryansk State University.  I have two Bachelors Degrees in Education and lots of experience with elementary level students.  This is my second year as a second grade teacher in the Russian Immersion Program.  I taught in Russia for a few years before I moved to Alaska.  Before I came to Anchorage with my family, I worked at the Alaska Gateway School District for four years.  I come from a teaching dynasty, and I am a third generation teacher in my family.  It is very exciting to be able to teach your children Russian!  In addition, I have two of my own children enrolled in the Russian Immersion Program.  I want to be involved in this project as much as I can, and I want to see your children succeeding in it!  I look forward to meeting all of you.

3rd Grade Russian Teacher - Mrs. Ashcroft
Hi, My name is Inna Ashcraft and I am a teacher of the Russian language.  I am very excited because this is my first year of working as a full-time teacher at Turnagain Elementary.  I am so happy that I already know my students -- previously, I worked as a substitute teacher.  I have a Master's degree in Education and 20 years experience teaching foreign language in Ukraine.  Now I will be teaching Russian.  I believe knowledge of a foreign language opens the boundaries between countries through communication and brings the opportunity to be successful in life.  This year students will be learning Russian language arts (speech, reading, and writing), math (supplementary assignments), science and social studies.  Please feel free to contact me with any concerns or questions (ashcraft_inna@asdk12.org).  Good luck in the new school year!

3rd Grade English Teacher - Mrs. Hibbert
Dear Students, Parents and Staff,
My name is Dawn Hibbert and this is my fourth year at Turnagain Elementary. I'm looking forward to working with all of you in the Russian Immersion program as the English partner in third grade. I have lived in Anchorage for more than 35 years. My husband and I have four children, ages 17 to 25. I love to read, garden, cook, travel and teach school! I'm excited to work with all of you as we begin another great year at Turnagain!

4th Grade Russian Teacher - Mrs. Hunter
Welcome to fourth grade! My name is Marina Hunter and this is my fourth year teaching Russian at Turnagain Elementary. I am originally from the city of Tver which is north-west of Moscow, Russia.  Before coming to Turnagain I was with Bilingual Department for 6.5 years, first as a tutor at Tyson Elementary and then as a teacher at Clark Middle school. I am exited about the new school year and am looking forward to meeting your children and taking them on a journey of learning Russian.

4th Grade English Teacher - Mrs. Schram
I teach the English portion of the Russian Immersion program in 4th grade. My life has taken me from Mom, to accountant, teacher assistant, Slingerland tutor and finally, a teacher! I have taught at Gateway School for the Dyslexic, Family Partnership Charter School, Wendler Middle School, and now Turnagain Elementary.

I am the proud Mother of 3, Mother-in-Law of 3, and Grandmother of 3. I was raised, from the age of 4, on a homestead in Anchor Point, Alaska, and all my children were born in Anchorage, Alaska. Children are a very precious gift, and I cherish the opportunity to work with your amazing bilingual children. I love the collaboration model of the Russian Immersion program that allows two teachers to work together to meet students’ educational goals in two languages.

In pursuit of lifelong learning, I am currently finishing my Master’s Degree in the field of Literacy through the University of Alaska Southeast. Learning can often be a challenging process. It is my goal to come alongside students to help them feel successful in their own lifelong learning process. Along with a hobby of loving to learn new things, I enjoy quilting and reading
